Any room will be transformed by giving it a fresh coat of paint and if you're looking to do something bold and striking, rather than paint all four walls letterbox red, just paint the main back wall that colour. That way the remaining neutral colour choice for the other three walls will mean all furnishing can match and the strong back wall becomes a focal point but doesn't totally dominate or darken the room. Good rooms to do this with are kitchens, bathrooms or the spare bedroom, office or box room! Choosing colours can be a bit like choosing names for babies, the secret is don't tell anyone what colours you are thinking of using, or you'll get a range of negative responses, just go for it.
